Dr. Danen Sjostrom is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in Albuquerque, NM providing compassionate, individual dental care for infants, kids, teens, and children with special needs.
There are many areas of prevention and care that are unique to children which a Pediatric Dentist is specifically trained to identify, treat, and prevent. That is why many parents wisely choose a Pediatric Dentist for their child’s dental needs, just as they choose a Pediatrician for their medical needs.
Well child dental check-ups with a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist every six months will help prevent problems and keep your child’s smile healthy and happy.
Children are our only patients, and all of our training is devoted to meeting their specialized needs. A Pediatric Dentist has two to three additional years of training beyond undergraduate and dental education.
Dr. Sjostrom completed a PhD in Oral Biology in addition to dental school and pediatric residency. He is the only Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in New Mexico to also hold a PhD.
A Pediatric Dentist’s extra years of training are devoted to learning about the growth, development, and dental needs that are specific to infants, children, adolescents, and those with special needs.
As a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, the American Board of Pediatric Dentists (ABPD) certifies that the dental care which Dr. Sjostrom provides is based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD guarantees that a Pediatric Dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to the delivery of quality patient care.
Dr. Sjostrom is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), a fellow of the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and a member of the American Dental Association (ADA). He maintains privileges at Presbyterian Hospital and Lovelace Hospital for children requiring treatment under general anesthesia.
One of the most important facets of pediatric dentistry is the relationship we develop between our office and your family. You can be sure that your child will see the same dentist, Dr. Sjostrom at each visit. Continuity of care, or seeing the same doctor at every visit is especially important for children; it provides them with a sense of comfort, trust, and stability. This is Dr. Sjostrom’s vision in creating a ‘Small Practice Experience’ for his patients.
We promise to deliver the care and attention your child deserves.
Our goal is to not only be a dental home for your child, but to be an extension of your regular home, where children feel comfortable and special.
Dr. Sjostrom is committed to family-centered dental care. We encourage parents to play an active role in their child’s dental health and encourage the child’s growth, education, and participation as well.
We welcome parents into our treatment areas.
Our goal is to provide an environment in which your child can develop a positive attitude toward their oral health and keep a happy smile. All treatment is provided in a positive, caring, and fun environment. Our number one priority is the safety and health of our patients.
