Dr. Danen Sjostrom is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in Albuquerque, NM providing compassionate, individual dental care for infants, kids, teens, and children with special needs.
We want to provide your child with a positive experience to build on. This is why we offer our patients a complimentary Happy Visit to give your child an opportunity to feel more comfortable in our office and become familiar with our staff before their first visit with Dr. Sjostrom.
One of our talented dental assistants will escort you and your child around the office and introduce them to the fun environment we provide in addition to meeting Dr. Sjostrom.
To schedule a “Happy Visit” for your child, please contact us at (505) 200-3516.
At Sandia Pediatric Dentistry, teamwork is one of our core values. Dr. Sjostrom depends on parents to take an active role in their children’s dental and oral health. We welcome parents into our clinical area during exams and treatment for their child.
As a father of four, Dr. Sjostrom understands the challenges that come with coordinating multiple schedules and appointments for siblings. As a courtesy to you, we will happily accommodate appointments for multiple siblings.
Our office is especially designed to keep children of all ages occupied and entertained so parents can accompany one child during exams or treatment while other children can play.
It is extremely important, however, that scheduled appointments are not missed or cancelled as this can create scheduling complications.
Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for your child. We ask that you arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to your appointment in order to complete any necessary forms. For your convenience, we also have our New Patient forms available online.
Children tend to do better in the dental office when they are not tired. Therefore, we encourage morning appointments, especially for pre-school or anxious children. Most restorative (fillings, extractions, etc.) procedures are scheduled in the morning. Children are prepared and do better in the morning for these types of procedures.
Keep in mind that dental appointments are excused absences from school, and we will provide any necessary documentation that your child’s school may require.
We value and respect the time you set aside to visit our office, so we commit to you to minimize any unnecessary wait time. We strive to see all patients on time for their scheduled appointment. There are times when our schedule is delayed in order to accommodate an injured child or an emergency. Please accept our apology in advance should this occur during your appointment. We will do the same if your child is in need of emergency treatment. We will make every attempt to communicate with you in the case that our schedule is delayed and it might affect your scheduled appointment.
We request that you provide 48hours notice should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. This advance notice gives us the opportunity to schedule another patient in your canceled time slot. If two (2) broken/missed appointments occur or two (2) cancellations without 48-hour notice, our office reserves the right to not schedule any subsequent appointments and/or apply a broken appointment fee.
If you arrive 15 minutes late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule for the next available appointment time.
